FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Seven Devils Opens New Imagination Parlor & Gift Shop
Including An Online Storefront.
ART - MUSIC - FILMS - BOOKS - GIFTS
New Orleans, Louisiana Friday May 27th, 2005

Seven Devils is the shop one goes to when looking for
something out of the ordinary. It is a shop where creative
freedom is honored, and where differences are respected. At
Seven Devils, you will find independent films, unsigned
music, self-published books, gallery less artwork, exotic
instruments, eclectic gifts and anything the imaginative
side of your brain desires. Eric Laws, a local composer,
has co-operated (alongside Chrystal Skye Jordan) Second
Circle Productions, a multimedia production facility, for
ten years. Eric has decided to open up Seven Devils to
compliment his creative endeavors with sister, Laura Laws,
a writer, and their artistic parents.

Located on 1111 Saint Mary Street on the corner of
Magazine, Seven Devils: Imagination Parlor and Gift Shop;
resides in the historic section of the Lower Garden
District. The owners respect and appreciate the history of
New Orleans, and plan to fashion the shop in resemblance to
a seasoned parlor one might visit in the majestic quarters
of New Orleans antiquity. The name Seven Devils is in honor
of the location on Saint Mary. The owners of the shop want
the name to have symbolic relevance, and while researching
Mary they often came upon the term Seven Devils or seven
demons. Slight variations on the story exist depending on
which scripture one chooses to read, but Mary is said to
have had seven devils expelled from her body. Mary could
then be welcomed amongst the saved, much like artists
expelling their own inner demons. Once the demons are
released, the emotional work can reach an enlightened
acceptance.

Seven Devils is a place dedicated to the promotion of
artists that might otherwise be ignored in mainstream
society. The shop sells and distributes products that have
a soul: films, music, books, artwork, and treasures that
are found in the most unlikely of places and given new
homes with new memories. These are not materials one can
buy at their local superstore. Seven Devils sells goods
that the creator cares about and so too should the owner.

Besides selling the items in the shop on Saint Mary, online
shopping and distribution is offered. On the web site
www.sevendevilsparlor.com all items can be viewed and
purchased setting up a digital conduit between New Orleans
and the international world. By making art accessible and
affordable, Seven Devils feels that the promotion of
creativity will have no bounds. Local Artists will be free
to reveal all mediums of expression in a comfortable and
inventive environment.

Having Second Circle Productions as a sister company to
Seven Devils will allow much of the material, especially
films and music, to be produced at Second Circle
Productions and then released at Seven Devils. The artist
then has an easier ability for their work to be produced
and released under one roof. With the promotion of artists
in mind, Seven Devils plans to have a different event
every month, to display a new creative
exploration. Seven Devils purpose is to exhibit
creativity in all mediums for local artists, expanding the
audience and the awareness of the talent existing in New
Orleans.
